Course Arrangements and Booking Conditions
Selection Criterion
Most of the training events facilitated by the LSCBN are popular and consequently oversubscribed. In order to achieve a consistent and transparent method of allocation of places onto courses, we have developed a criterion for selection based on the following principles:
- Research, public inquires and experience continues to reinforce the necessity of effective inter-agency work to safeguard and promote children's welfare
- Practitioners who have direct, regular contact with children benefit from child protection training
- Practitioners and managers should have the opportunity to benefit from good and effective training as part of their professional development and to assist their development of service delivery.
Therefore:
- Priority will be given to applicants who have direct and regular contact with children
- Participants on courses will reflect a range of local agencies and disciplines across the county
- Every effort will be made to ensure that the training offered is of a high standard, up-to-date and available to all agencies.

In the event that a course has to be cancelled we will make every endeavour to inform participants as soon as possible. Please ensure that you enter a contact phone number or email address on your application form.
